Collagen Induction Therapy

What is CIT?

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is a medical skin treatment using micro-needle procedures which are a cylindrical shaped dermal-pen with multiple ultra-fine needles that creates microscopic holes or tiny dermal punctures in the skin.

This process helps to stimulate new tissue regeneration, elastin and natural production of collagen fibres. It also forms new capillaries for improved blood supply and allows for better penetration of active skincare ingredients.

Following a course of micro-needling, the skin begins to tighten up under the activation of new collagen and improved circulation, giving you a more youthful smooth skin.

Note: Dermal rolling must be used with a clinical range of skincare products.

A pre assessment skin consultation is required prior to commencing this type of treatment to assess your skin's suitability. This is a paid consultation.

Micro Needling

The device used for micro-needling is a Micro-Needle Roller, which contains 192 micro-sized needle points spaced equally apart.

These micro-needles are very short in length and only affect the superficial layers of the skin.

Micro-needle Rollers penetrating above 1.5mm are only used in salon treatments only. It is recommended to use the longer needles in clinic treatments and then complement it with a home care Micro-needle Roller.

Stimulates Skin Tissue

Collagen Induction therapy is an affordable alternative to medical anti-ageing treatments as it stimulates tissue regeneration and skin rejuvenation; it treats wrinkles, acne, scarring, stretch marks, pigmentation and skin discolourations, uneven dull lifeless skin, open pores and hair loss.

It improves the thickness of the dermis as well as epidermis. In return skin texture improves and wrinkles are reduced. It also improves blood supply and reduces pigmentation. It can be used on all skin types and at any age to help improve skin texture.
